Why Teach at Cincinnati School of Music
Discover the systems, support, and structure that make CSM the best place to teach.
We Built CSM Around What Teachers Really Need
Teaching music shouldn’t mean burnout, inconsistent income, or chasing down parents for payments.
At Cincinnati School of Music, we’ve built a system where teachers can actually thrive — with organized operations, professional support, and a steady flow of students year-round.
We Keep Your Schedule Full
Students come and go — but your paycheck shouldn’t depend on that.
Our marketing and administrative teams work constantly to keep teacher schedules as full as possible across all five of our Cincinnati locations.
Over 1,000 active weekly students create steady demand.
Continuous marketing investment keeps enrollment strong even in slow seasons.
We prioritize full schedules — because supporting one teacher with 30 students is better than 15 teachers with two.
We Handle the Admin — You Focus on Teaching
No more juggling messages, payments, and calendar chaos.
Our admin team takes care of everything behind the scenes:
Scheduling and rescheduling
Tuition billing and collections
Student inquiries and parent communication
Recital planning and logistics
Policy and boundary enforcement
That means your time is protected for what you do best — teaching.
When you walk into your studio, your entire schedule is already confirmed for the day and available to see using our scheduling app.
You’re Paid Fairly and Consistently
We respect your time and skill.
Teachers are paid for no-shows and late cancellations, so income stays predictable.
You’ll receive biweekly paystubs and W-2s, making tax time simple and transparent.
All CSM teachers are W-2 employees, not contractors — so we cover half of Social Security and Medicare contributions.
Eligible employees can participate in our 3% SIMPLE IRA match, helping you build for the future.
Flexible Scheduling That Fits Your Life
To make sure your first weeks are steady, we offer a 2-Hour Schedule Build Guarantee. During your first six weeks, you’ll have at least two paid teaching hours each week on the days you’re scheduled. It’s a simple promise that reflects how much we value your time — and how confident we are in the consistency of our student demand.
Most new teachers begin with 1–2 teaching days per week, then expand as their schedule fills.
We match your availability with our strongest student demand, helping you build efficiently and avoid downtime.
Want more hours or fewer? You set your goals — we make the schedule work.
Professional Environment, Real Community
Each of our five schools is designed for high-quality instruction — clean studios, fast wi-fi, real support staff.
You’ll teach alongside talented colleagues who care about both music and education, not just gigs between shows.
We believe great teachers deserve great workplaces — organized, respectful, and genuinely enjoyable.
